Our sheep are raised exclusively on pasture using rotational grazing methods that improve soil health and animal well-being. No vaccines, no antibiotics, no grain — just fresh air, clean pasture, clean water, and healthy genetics. Expect mild, tender meat packed with nutrients from a clean system.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve a lamb. Email us at seeya@back40farmstead.com to check availability and reserve your lamb.

Our lambs will be ready to butcher in early December. We have a limited amount of lambs, as we are just starting to grow our flock!

Understanding Our Pricing

We sell our whole lamb based on "dressed weight," which is the weight of the lamb carcass after slaughter and removal of the skin, head, and internal organs, but before it's cut into individual pieces. This is a standard practice in the industry.

Whole Lamb: $5.00 per pound of dressed weight.

The total cost of your order will depend on the dressed weight of the specific lamb you purchase.

What is the process?‍

‍Dressed Weight: The Butcher will provide the final dressed weight of your lamb. This is typically 65-72 lbs.
Cut Selection: we will work with you personally to ensure you get your lamb processed exactly how you like it. We will guide you through the available cuts and help you make the best choices for your cooking needs.‍
Processing: Your lamb is processed according to your specifications by our skilled butcher.‍
Final Cost: The final cost is calculated based on the dressed weight and the processing fees.
